If your company is interested in any of the company awards (Teamwork Award, Social Entrepreneurship Award, and Company of the Year Award), please have ONLY your President reply to this post with your company name! You have until Friday, May 25, 2012.

Award Application Deadline

The deadline to apply for awards is Monday, May 21 (Yes! This gives you the long weekend to work on it!)

If you are applying for awards, please make sure you are able to come to the interview night on Tuesday, May 29 from 6PM to 9PM.

Off-site Board Meeting

To wrap up the Company Program, you are required to have an offsite board meeting. At this meeting each VP needs to summarize what they have done throughout the program and also go through goals and numbers in each position. Some ways to do this is to go through your business plan and compare what you wrote to what you accomplished. You can go through each Executive Summary in your IT system as well.

Some time during the meeting you can also give each achiever time to talk about their experience throughout the program. The board meeting should be held at one of the advisors companies. If that is not possible please let us know and we will try and book a room here, at the World Trade Centre, on the 6th floor.

Your offsite board meeting should be held one day between May 30th and June 5th. This gives each company the chance to hold their meeting on their night.

Shareholders Report

Liquidating the company is a process that will take a couple of weeks. For that, you will have to write a Share Holders Report and complete some more steps. Please refer to the Criteria and Checklist posted on Resources.

All these steps must be completed before May 26th, 2012.

Once you have completed these steps, you'll have to plan for an off-site Board Meeting. Details to come.

Awards and Scholarships

The criteria for local awards and scholarships is now online. Applications are open. Please go to Scholarships on the main menu to download the criteria and access the online application form.

There are awards and scholarships for non executives and executives. I encourage everyone to apply.

Once we get the applications, advisors will have the chance to submit comments to support them.

Based on the application and feedback from advisors, as many students as possible will be selected for interviews with the JA Board of Directors as part of the selection process.

The recepients will be announced at the Company Program Awards event. Details to be announced.

Canadian Company of the Year

All companies are eligible to submit their Final Shareholder's Report for the Canadian Company of the Year Competition. The deadline to submit is May 25th, same as for the local competition. All you have to do is let us know if you want to participate.

Last Week of Production

Parking

Park Near the Fantasyland Hotel entrance at West Edmonton Mall (nearest insertection is 87 Avenue and 178 Street) The second level is best to park on. When you enter the mall, walk up the stairs that are just inside the mall on your right handside. You will come to our registration table at the top of the stairs. If you park on the main level, take the elevators up to the 3rd floor.

Registration

Registration is from 8:30 - 9:30a and the first keynote begins at 9:30a. At registration you will receive your nametag, conference agenda and schedule.

What to bring with you

Business Cards, a notepad, your smartphone and/or tablet, laptop and lots of questions! Don't forget that we will also have a Wordpress Help Desk onsite all day in the main ballroom where you can drop in and get answers to all of your WP questions! We will have power stations set up in the main ballroom that you can plug into and wifi will be available all day!

We will close with prizing around 4:30pm.
